I continue to read articles about people with large Twitter followings who are paid to promote or mention a product or service. Whoever runs Twitter must figure out how to keep this from happening, and this is true for all the other socials networks as well. Why? Because the joy of following someone interesting on Twitter or Facebook is based on authenticity. I wouldn’t want to say we live in a cynical world, but how much believability is there when that someone is being paid to be allegedly real?
