We used to do work for the commercial division of a fine local company called Overhead Door Company of Houston. One of the many promotions we handled involved a series of small flat magnets typically seen on refrigerator doors.
Flash forward. Our offices are in a building in a neighborhood that has become slight rougher over the last ten years, and we now have unsupervised skateboarders (and others) invading our parking garage at night and on the weekends, with the attendant graffiti, trash and minor vandalism. About two months ago, the building owners were in our offices discussing solutions for the problem, and we suggested roll-up mesh security gates. The owners asked if we new of a gate provider and, since we were in our company kitchen at the time, we gave them a magnet with Overhead Door’s logo and contact info.
Sure enough, two days ago the Overhead Door trucks arrived and the security gate installation is in progress. I don’t know how much profit is in the job, but I’ll bet the profit could buy a whole lot of refrigerator door magnets.
